Netplay

Is there a plugin to download to be able to use Netplay on ePSXe?
(I've done it on Zsnes before but the netplay was built in)
Any help would be appreciated.
~Thanks

Yes there is, you can get it here.

Quote:
The host acts like a player 1 and a client acts like a player 2.
You should have a fast connection otherwise sync problems may occur.
Both users should have exactly the same ePSXe plugin configuration and exactly the same versions of game they want to play.
It is recommended to disable sound during the network play.

Thanks, ive been messing with it stil no luck but ill keep it up.

Been trying different plugins (keeping both player 1 and 2 the same) but still no luck, it goes to open the game, screen goes black and then client closes.
if you have used this before which plugins did you use with your partner?

Ive also tried the Cyberpad 1.4 with Kaillera client, still no luck there.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I have been searching still havent found anything. ive also read that it has been successful as well. The only way ive got the Kaillera client to work (was a sega emulator) is you have to open the game then go to netplay and open it there, and have the person join your already opened game but for ePSXe theres no way to be able to do that, that ive seen. ive also found a plugin for direct connect but it goes to load then crashes on both computers.

Both work the same between 1.5.0 or 1.5.2 or try both versions?

Have you ever used Netplay yourself Shendo?

Yes I did, with CyberPad plugin but only over LAN though.
I used 1.5.2 version as 1.6.0 was having problem with the Netplay.

Okay ill make sure to try 1.5.2 first. bro and i are on same network so connection shouldnt be a problem.
Did you use Cyberpad plugin 1.0 or Cyberpad with Kalliera client 1.4?
And do you remember which plugins you used to sync your opponents and your emulator?
~I appreciate the posts Shendo, lots of forums wont touch this subject.

I used Pete's OpenGL 1.76, Eternal SPU plugin 1.41 and played the game from the ISO image.
But any plugin should work, as long as configuration is the same on both PCs.

(stupid question) You meant ISO image as in a .cdi mounted image right?
What CD-Rom Plugin did you use?

I meant ISO as in image of the optical disc, which can be loaded with the "Run ISO" command (.bin, .img, .iso).
As for Cd-Rom plugin I use Mooby2 cd disk image driver or the built-in plugin.

Ah okay yeah i have a .cdi image of Gauntlet Legends (the game i'm trying to play net play with bro) works with mounting image OR File>Run ISO.
Ill try with the File>Run ISO first then try mounting the image if that doesn't work

Okay got it to work, but the game kept going async. Last time we tried it said on my screen his mem card had no memory to load and mine did but on his screen we both loaded into game /shrug.

Were you able to enable the sound in game?

I turned it off when we played (and on a couple times to test it out with it on) but of coruse the game went async after a couple mins of play time.

Heres a more detailed explaination of what happend:

I used ePSXe 1.5.2 and netplay worked with the Cyberpad 1.0 plugin, unfortunately the game gets async.

We have the same plugins, Bios, plugin setting and sound disabled (we played with sound enabled and we were sync for a couple mins then it gets async).
Last time we (bro and I) tried, it was saying on my screen his mem card didnt have a file to load btu on his screen it loaded fine, which was wierd.
We loaded characters just fine except for that last time.

When we were in game one time we went async and then it fixed it self somehow (think it was becuase we got on same place on game) then it went async again.

*Note* Perhaps this will help a little more for you of what happend.

That probably happens because you have a game save and your brother don't.

Anyway what I quoted earlier:
The host acts like a player 1 and a client acts like a player 2.
Which means that the games are not "comunicating", you only control gamepad input on the other PC.

In order to get Netplay to work properly games/configs/saves must be equal on both PCs.

I get the memory card thing (think that was my original problem). I dont know if youve ever played Gauntlet Legends before but the character saves are seperate its not a single save file. We did reload our characters successfully a couple times just the last time we tried it screwed up as i said and we just said screw it for that day lol.

Aye ive read the same, but i want to know if sound is at all possible while playing net play. The sounds of the game add to gameplay, not just seeing your character do it.

@Shendo- Im using Pete's OpenGL 2.8. Would rolling back to 1.7 work better? And did you do any extra config to the plugin?
Only thing i changed on both computers ePSXe was set a framelimit and for sound im using built in ePSXe SPU core 1.5.2. With sound disabled being the only change to it.
