XBox 360 controller problem.

Hi, I'm using ePSXe 1.6.0 with Windows Vista, and I'm trying to config it to use the XBox 360 controller. But it doesn't seem to detect the X axis of the right stick. Any ideas?

Does it work in other programs?

Also, update the drivers and if that doesn't work then try another emulator like pSX, PSXeven, etc.

My 360 pad's right stick doesn't work in ePSXe either...I think there is a fix but I can't remember what it was (I haven't done it yet!).

You can either go to the registry and map it manually, OR you can just use a different emulator for the (few) games that need right analog stick support.

edit: Shendo, you're on the right track, but one of the problems is that the right analog stick won't configure. It happened to me, and I remember there is a thread about it somewhere where the problem was fixed but I can't find the thread.

Those driver things that Shendo posted didn't work for me. Also, I'm using Vista, so only ePSXe works well for me...

What other emulators work really well with Vista?

EDIT: The XBCD won't work because I'm using the wireless controller.

XBCD doesn't work with the wireless controller? First make sure you're using the 360 drivers--I was stuck for a while because I was using the XBCD drivers which are for the original Xbox pad.

AFAIK all emulators work with Vista, you can try PSXeven, pSX, SSSPSX, PCSX, for starters.

I can vouch for PSXeven working fine on 32-bit Vista. Give it a whirl and see how you fare.

PSXeven runs ok, but it's crashing a lot for me. I'm running Tekken 3 JPN.

Ok, looks good with PCSX, although I'm not a huge fan of discontinued emus...

EDIT: Nevermind, PCSX only seems to run Tekken 3 JPN well.

Ok, so ePSXe can't use my controller, PSXeven crashes like all hell, PCSX can only run one game well. What are my options?

Give me some more info on PSXeven...crashing with any error? Specific times or places? What plugins are you using?

No specific error, just a Windows "This program has to close". Only tried it with Tekken, it crashed once I got into fighting, after a few punches and kicks.

Emulators and Vista.
