Disc changing help

I'm having some trouble changing discs, playing Parasite Eve. I'm playing it on window mode, and I believe I'm supposed to see the GUI for the disc change command, yet no GUI in sight. So, how do I switch discs?

While playing press ESC and the GUI will show, then you can change the disc.

Hmm, that's weird... everytime I press the ESC button, the emulator crashes... I've also tried it with ePSXe 1.5.2, same results.

Is there any error displayed?

And i assume that you are using savestates not regular memorycard saves, yes?

Yeah, using savestates. When I press the ESC key, the emulator stops responding, and Window's XP's Send Error Report comes up, terminating the program.

Well since you are using savestates you can't move your memorycard to a different emulator and continue playing.
I'm afraid that you will have to start over in some other emulator (i suggest PSXeven).

So, I can't change discs with ePSXe? Which other emulators support epsxe's memcards?

You could change disc if emulator wouldn't crash when you press ESC.
ePSXe is using .mcr memorycards which are compatible with other PSX emulators (PSXeven, PCSX, SSSPSX, pSX).

However ePSXe's savestates can only be used in ePSXe.
And if you still make a memorycard save the .mcr file won't be updated because you need to close ePSXe by pressing ESC too.
