Newbie question

Hello. First timer here.

This is probably an ungodly newbie question, but here goes anyway:

Im looking for a PSX emulator that can actually read PSX game cds.

I have a bunch of PSX games, just no system.

Is there an emulator that can read REAL PSX game discs?

Also, if so, what emulator do you guys/gals suggest i get?

If this has already been answered somewhere down the line, hit me with a link please!

Thanx for any help!!

For newbies I suggest to get pSX v10, but for best performance and compatibility you should use ePSXe, PCSX, or PSXeven.

You can download the from NGEMU.

The problem remains that he'll need the BIOS and you're supposed to own a Playstation and dump your own BIOS...

Without the BIOS he won't be able to use *most* playstation emulators...

And we're not allowed to tell him where he can download a Playstation BIOS...

Hi, there. I'm a newbie here and a beginner with ePSXe as well. My question is (pretty stupid maybe) do you HAVE to use a official CD-ROM? I've confugured everything and I didn't know you needed a CD-ROM. I'm a little bit confused. Is there any other way you can play your game with the Official Disc? If so, what else do you need?

Thanks.

Phew. That's better. Thanks for the help but I got more questions. I don't have any of those programs the people recommend, like Alcohol 120%. I got an idea. Can I just burn my ISO to a simple CD? I mean, will it work that way?

Why would want to waste a CD doing that? Just mount it (I recommend and preffer Daemon Tools) and play.

spacepirate725, just make an ISO with a program like ISO Producer (freeware).

When the making process is complete just open ePSXe and go to File -> Run ISO.
