Is It Possible:Gameshark Codes in PSX Games?

I am playing Resident Evil 3:Nemesis on ePSXe. I tried to find the cheat codes for the game but there were none. But i found many Gameshark codes like 'infinte health and ammo' which is exaclty i want. Is there a way to enable these cheats in ePSXe while playing PS One games?

Please help me out on this.

PS:I came across something called PEC. But i am unable ro understand its instructions.
