epsxe crashes on game load

I find this error particularly strange given that the program worked perfectly fine a month or two ago but doesn't work at all now I've tried loading from ISO, CD, running the BIOS, and every combination of plugins. I've even tried shutting down every single non-essential process in Task Manager. Every time I get the same error:

"An unhandled Win32 exception occurred in epsxe.exe"

Has anyone else ever had this problem? I'm trying to run epsxe 1.6.0. My specs are below for what it's worth. Any help would be appreciated!

EDIT: I just tried using epsxe 1.5.2, and the exact same thing happens.

EDIT 2: I also just tried using the dual core patch, and still the same problem.

EDIT 3: I thought maybe it was a Visual Studio problem, given that it kept bringing up the JIT debugging screen, so I uninstalled Visual Studio and everything that came with it. I also uninstalled both .NET Framework 2.0 and 1.1. Still get the same error.

E6600 processor
2 GB DDR2 800 RAM
Radeon X1900XT 256 MB
Sound Blaster X-Fi
Windows XP SP 2

Try this:

Open the register (Start=> Run=> Regedit) and go to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vision Thing\PSEmu Pro and

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\epsxe\config and delete the entries under.

You'll need to configure the emu again but it will allow you to start "fresh".

Thanks for the advice. I actually went ahead and formatted the drive (it needed to be done anyway), so of course it works fine now. Hopefully it won't happen again!
