Help! need to get started

Yes Ive fallen at the first hurdle as Im new and confused.
I have just downloaded ePSXe and Im trying to configure it. Its telling me I need a 'Bios something' which I have also just downloaded (I own a ps1 fyi) but the config isnt picking it up. Does it have to be in a certain place to work? the /bios directory? If so how do I do that??
