The problem is caused by Pete's OpenGL plugins for video. When I run Bios or a game (Tenchu 2: BotSA) everything works. But when the emulator is closed, screen turns to black, system reboots and message appears stating recovery from serius error. Switching plugin to Pete's D3D driver solves the issue, but I'd still like to know what's going on. One reason is that OpenGL2 is meant for modern machines, and I want the game(s) to look as good as possible with my hardware, preferably have more polished graphics than Playstation is capable of. I use ePSXe v1.6.0 with ePSXeCutor 1.0.6.3 frontend
And oh yes, I own Playstation with original games etc. I looked threads in several forums without answer. If someone can help me out, please do so. My system specs: AMD Athlon 3500+ Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT Realtek AC97 Audio (integrated) 1024 MB DDR400 |

Hello Grollo and welcome to Ngemu forums.
Aaaaaah windows and its "serious errors".....OK force the system to show you a blue screen before reboot. For doing that: Right click on your desktop => Properties => "Advanced" tab => Settings for "Boot and recovery" Then uncheck "Reboot automatically".At the next reboot you'll see a blue screen telling you what error caused the problem. What does Windows say? |

Thanks for welcoming me.
Yes, I'm newbie. Anyway, I did what you said, but right-clicking on desktop brings up Display Properties and there isn't anything about "Reboot automatically". I also checked Control Panel => System => "Advanced" => Startup and Recovery => "Settings": Couldn't find what you described (XP sp2).

It's lengthy, but here goes:
"A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. The problem seems to have been caused by the following file: nv_disp.dll PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED AREA If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any Windows updates you might need. If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode. (This is followed by technical information consisting of numbers) Beginning dump of physical memory. Physical memory dump complete. Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance." I used OpenGL2 plugin. And there's one thing I forgot to mention that happens after rebooting. Spy-Bot TeaTimer asks to accept registry change related to KernelCheck or something. I have DaemonTools but I run image file directly, so I don't think that has nothing to do with this. All this is starting to look bad, although my system works just fine. Last edited by Grollo; November 1st, 2006 at 20:33. |

Possibly :
1 - the graphic cards drivers. If you realy have ageforce, I'd advise you use the 84.21 drivers, all later 90.xx drivers seems to have severe stability issues. When booting your computer, keep pressing F8 and select safe graphics mode, VGA mode or something close. Install proper drivers and check if it works now. 2 - more probably blocked kernel settings. Either consider disabling TeaTimer if it gives too much trouble, or allow the kernel operation. Last edited by Hard core Rikki; November 1st, 2006 at 20:35. |

I have 84.21 drivers, but I re-installed them. It's all good now, OpenGL2 works! Thanks a lot guys, really appreciate it!
However, one question remains. When I start emulation with openGL2, Spooler Subsystem wants to contact the internet. I allowed it, but D3D plugin doesn't cause any firewall alerts. So what's up with that? Again, thanks a bunch!!

I understand that not all posts receive replies, but was the question too vague or somehow inappropriate? I got my first ever computer last year, so maybe I'm missing something here? If I've done something wrong, it was not intended.

I am here now. Allow me to step in.
Process name: Print+Fax Spooler File: spoolsv.exe The spooler service is responsible for managing spooled print/fax jobs. The regular spoolsv.exe file is located in the C:\Windows\System32 folder. In other cases, spoolsv.exe is a virus, spyware, trojan or worm! Check this with Security Task Manager. Viruses with same name: Backdoor.Ciadoor.B VBS.Masscal.Worm (vbs) Hacktool.Privshell t's a print spooling application, but is easily targeted for spyware and/or worms. Quote:
I'd run antispy softs to check if picks up anything on this file, just to be sure. If it seems to check out okay, tell the firewall to deny internet access by spoolsv. If you then experience any problems printing, tell the firewall to allow the access. Some USB Printer cause this, and all combo printer (Fax, Copier, Scanner, Printers). It just windows print spooler. In all cases I have seen till now, it's not trying to access the internet it's trying to access your local computer resources SPOOLSV occasionally polls to check for networked printers. This ocasional poll can be disabled, but results in less than ideal printer use, especially in home networks. |

Good you checked back on this thread.
Together with info provided by Hard core Rikki, some googling and semi-heavy research, I think I've gotten the handle on this now. Did process exploring and other system-related stuff. Although there's still some things to do, my question related to Spooler SubSystem is taken care now, so this thread has served it's purpose for me. RedLion, Hard core Rikki: Thanks for helping me out. *TRANSMISSION END* Last edited by Grollo; November 2nd, 2006 at 16:50. |
