Minor sound problems.....

Whenever I play a game the sound will skip a bit then the specific part of the music it was at just plays indefinitely while the rest of the music plays. I hear the regular music but in the background there is always like one note just playing forever. Is it my sound configuration or something? Is anyone else having the same problem? Any help would be appreciated.

What game are you playing and what sound plugin are you using?

I have the ePSXe SPU core 1.5.2 and I'm playing Final Fantasy IX. Are there other available sound plugins?
