Help! "No WGL extensions!" What do I need to do?
I can't open any games, even my Playstation discs. They all come up with this message and the title bar of the message reads gpuPeteOpenGL2 which I guessed had something to do with the Pete graphics plugin.
I searched around and found out that it's connected to the graphics card you have, but I have a Geforce FX 5200 and that should be fine. I can't think of any other things wrong. I followed my friend's settings for the plugins and I don't know how to restart these settings and try out the defaults. EDIT: I'm using ePSXe 1.6.0 btw. I've tried to play Castlevania: SOTN, MGS, Silent Hill, Harvest Moon, etc. Someone please help me.

I'd suggest using 1.5.2(Just cause most games, and the ones you listed, run better and with fewer glitch's)
As for yoour graphics card? It says your using OpenGL2? That's for 2.0 support...why not try the basic one?(And just from what I've read the FX has always had problems with everything...lol) Just throwing in my two cents on your problem |

Uninstall your video drivers completly, then go to www.nvidia.com and download the new ones for your graphic card and install them.
Btw: Those games shouldn't have problems with the ePSXe 1.6.0.

magnawiz: just follow the link i gave you, then select "Download Drivers" at the top of the page and just follow the guide. When you choose what driver you want, before downloading check "Driver Installation Hints Document".

Wiping your drivers clean can sometimes cause problems for people who aren't as computer illiterate. JUST download and install the new ones; it's safer and the difference isn't even noticeable by the human eye(I never have, I've done both ways)
Yes and I just suggested 1.5.2 since mainly most games do work better for it... I didn't say he needed it; just a good idea to get it. Also try the basic plugin like I said maybe...and the driver stuff like they said^^ And ya should be set. |

Okay guys. I downloaded and installed a new driver. And now when I try to play a game from my CD-Drive, the window screen would turn black and the emulator would just disappear (shut down?). I waited to see if it's just loading but nothing happens. I don't know what to do anymore.

I followed my friend's plugin setups because his works. I tried to run a few games like MGS, Castlevania, Silent Hill, and such from my CD drive before I installed the new driver and it got me the WGL message.
Now, after installing the new driver, I don't get the WGL message anymore. Instead, the window disappears whenever I try to open a game. The window screen, turns black for a second and the program just shuts off I guess. No error messages or anything. I've tried downloading a Castlevania ISO (.bin and .cue files) and I mounted that and it created a virtual CD drive. I tried configuring the CDROM plugin to the virutal CD Drive and ran the CD-ROM but the window still disappears. If I just run the ISO and click on the .bin Castlevania file same thing happens. EDIT: Yeah I tried opening Planescape Torment (which needs a CD) and it works. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: Okay I'm finally able to run the games now. It was the BIOS that I had to change (I was changing that before when I was still trying to fix the WGL problem); now it's back to the default (scph1001.bin). Thanks everyone for helping me. There's another problem now, though. I can run the games now but they're very laggy. Like when I'm playing Castlevania: SOTN, the animation is very slow and the it's laggy. The sound is also very choppy and slow. I'm going to look into this problem a bit later. If anyone know what's wrong please do tell me. Thanks again.
