Widescreen/Custom Resolution Problems

Okay, I'm fairly confident that someone has addressed a similar problem on here in the past, but I've yet to find a solution to my problem after searching the forums. So I suppose I'll ask.

Firstly, I was just wondering how the resolutions under the fullscreen option (in particular in Pete's plugins) are generated. Are they built into the plugin or generated from your own resolutions? (Btw, forgive the lack of technical knowledge or terminology.) I seem to remember back before my latest format, that 1776x1000 resolution was accessible in several of my graphics plugins. This was nice, as I run a composite signal to my widescreen TV to play ePSXe. However, this option has since vanished. I have tried multiple versions of ePSXe, as well as multiple GPU plugins, but I cannot get my widescreen resolutions to appear once again. I know I'm not crazy (at least I hope not) so could someone please enlighten me as to how to accomplish this? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.
