Can't close epsxe and CPU usage

I tested epsxe by running bios and the CPU usage will shoot right up to 100%
I dun think this is a problem of my processor, it is an AMD Athlon 64 3000+
and when i close the emulator, it will still be running in the background (in Task Manager, under Processes) so I have to terminated otherwise my CPU will be running at 100% usage forever, well, until i turn it off

It's ods-play, when you use the X button in windows... to close windows... (not the os !doh!) there is a chance windows fails to terminate the application. Using the "exit" function in the file menu the application terminates itself and you don't have to rely on windows.

yeah, the odds are at about 0,5% and if you're coincidentally ending your computer session and turning off your computer you'll never notice.

It's either:
1. Insanely bad luck
or
2. Windows having an inner conflict
or
3. Epsxe 1.6.0 doesn't like you :O

Ummm i dont think so... Whenever i try to use Alt+F4 to cloes Epsxe without pressing esc first, it ends up still running. The way to fix it after is to end the process in the task manager. Next time, close ure game first, then close epsxe

Lol, if he didn't close his game with the ESC button he wouldn't be able to use that purdy X button now would he?

or maby he's in windowed mode.

*testing, testing*

Oh hooray, that did it too. It didn't terminate epsxe at any of my 5 test runs
remember to press ESC to get back to the splash screen before quitting when you play in windowed mode!!

yeah well, that's not very good advice. doing it that way doesn't save your memory card.

Uh? he was telling him to press ESC to get back to the emu and then close it. That saves the memory card.

@all who need help: When you are done playing press ESC then close ePSXe
either by X button or File-->Exit or whatever the hell you want just press ESC first.

Yes, and then he gave advice about how to quit it (close your game (aka ESC), then close epsxe). And that's a bad advice now?

and just that part he's telling what happens when you quit it that way, not advicing to do so.

eh, that "way to fix it" thing..dubious.

no one shall ever mention a way of closing epsxe that does not include pressing escape first!

Well, you could try this.

Within my research, the first thing I would recommend to do when you are using ePSXe v1.6.0 is to turn 'Enable Logs' on (on the ePSXe GUI, click on 'Run', 'Enable Logs').

The moment you start a session, you will have the dos window (log) appear in the background. Once you are done with your session, whether in the BIOS or playing a game, press Esc and close the actual log window, not the ePSXe UI.

From what I discovered, the log runs regardless, but the log window will not be visible unless you enable it. So, instead of closing ePSXe through the UI, close the log window (being the emulator running) itself. The emu, otherwise, will still be running, thus the need to revert to task manager.

Hope that helps.
