SAVE states

i hate to sound like such a noob but how do you savestate?

i heard that by using save states, you can get past the dueus battle freeze in xenogears.

i am using ePSXe 1.5.2

i looked for this topic in the forums and couldn't find anything like this.

thanks in advance for the help.

it's in the help file that comes with ePSXe but...

F1: save
F2: switch spots
F3: load

just use the info above.. but save state is like a memory card that save the location where you want.. it pretty simple plus if the save point is far enough so the good thing about save state is you can save anyway you want.. you see save state don't help solving problem like battle freeze like you've mention but use PPF file for that..

p/s ppf is a patch file

a PPF file won't help you pass the Deus battle in Xenogears.

if you don't know what you're talking about, don't say anything. it's better to just keep quiet than to make up bullcrap.

correct. the right topic. when you're just making up things (like you just did), you're not on the right track.

I believe that he meant that you should stop posting things that you aren't sure about,
like that ppf patch, ppf patches are used to remove copy protection not to pass some part of the game where it hangs.

although make sure you don't go over fulltime to savestates and keep save normaly on memorycards right before you make a savestate. because savestates can become corrupt and when you load savestates you also load the memorycards (yes, the savestates actually saves the memorycard and overwrites it)

I can't seem to make my savestates work.

F1 and F3 don't do anything - F2 does cycle through the states, but any state I had tried to save in shows up as blank/"Free State".

Is there a folder I need to make in my ePSXe directory for savestates to work?
I'm using v1.60 and my keyboard doesn't have any "F-lock" key like some ergonomic ones do, so that can't be the problem.

Also, I apologize if I should've made a new thread for this question.

Make sure you unzip the emulator to get all the folders instead of dragging the contents out.
