Error my friend's getting.

Whenever she tries to play a game, she gets an error that there is no pixel resolution or rendering texture. She has Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.8 with all of the same settings as me, and I get games to play perfectly.

We also have the same type of Dell computer, so we have no clue what the problem is. I've looked up older threads, but couldn't find anything helpful. Any ideas?

man, this is a classic thing in psychology. "my friend is having this problem..." hmm. it's ok, you dont have to be embarassed. are you sure it isnt you?

anyway, what type of dell computer is it? are you sure they are the same? try to get the model number so we/you can look up the system specs of it. if it actually has a decent graphics card, then you probably just need to upgrade the drivers.

Turns out our video devices are actually completely different. Mine is Radeon X300 Series and hers is Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family. From the sound of hers, I get the feeling it would be very hard to configure it for ePSXe. But is there by any chance a way?

Maybe to try using P.E.Op.S software plugin or maybe Pete's OpenGL 1.76.

heh, i was willing to bet a shiny penny that they werent the same

with that graphics card....you will probably want to stick to Peops software plugin. it's possible to get hardware plugins working on that, but it requires a lot of tweaking and stuff that i dont think you want to do

The plugin didn't work. Do you have to take Pete's OpenGL out of the plugins folder first? Also, you only have to put the cdrpeops.dll file in the plugins folder to get it to work, right? I saw other files that came with it, but I'm not sure if they're necessary or not.

It should be noted that so far, she's only tried playing ISO files. Not sure if that makes any difference.

you dont have to take OGL out. and the peops CDR plugin doesnt matter. you need the Peops graphics plugin.

Oh, god. I'm a nitwit. I just looked for peops on Google, and it led me to the cdr plugin. I didn't realize there were other types of peops programs. Any idea where I can find the video plugin? Sorry for all the questions.

. . .

Wow. It's obvious I'm a noob. I wasn't even aware this forum had its own site. I was linked here from ePSXe's official site, so I figured this was just a forum tacked onto that site. That at least explains why the forums are for more than just ePSXe. Well, thank you. I really appreciate all the help.

mysteries abound.....

although, the first page that a google of "peops" takes you to is the sourceforge page. and one of the things you can download is the Peops GPU plugin

also, you can get it at Pete's website. choices everywhere!

good, glad it's working. and dont worry or be embarrassed about missing some stuff.....it may seem confusing at first, but once you get the hang out if it's quite simple. it happens to everyone (even me).
