Extremely slow framerates
Hello.
I'm attempting to emulate FFVII on my computer. The game begins fine and seems to emulate stably without any visible problems... except that it emulates at about 2.2 frames per second. I'm using the 1.6.0 version of ePSXe, just downloaded Pete's video/sound plugins as well as the CD image plugin. I've attempted to run the game both in full screen and in a 640x480 window, both with the least intensive settings I could choose. I am running XP on an Athlon 2400+ (2.00GHz), 1024MB RAM (I've allowed other processes to use well over half of that at once and they haven't complained, so ePSXe should have enough RAM), and an nVidia GeForce4 MX Integrated GPU. I do run a dual-head setup. Is there some configuration/setup changes I should look into or is this a fundamental problem with my hardware? Thank you. |

Did you try running any other game besides FF7? You should check that first, maybe something's just wrong with the game. I had the same framerate problem (well maybe not as bad as 2.2) with suikoden, but fiddling with the graphic settings fixed it, are yours all set at the lowest, like 0:blahblah? Try not running fullscreen as well, and closing down any other stuff you have running in the background, see if that helps at all.

what plugins (more specific)? and I've never heard of a GeForce4 integrated card, but If it is integrated you might want to try Pete's OGL 1.76 (version might be wrong) instead of OGL2.
