Unhappy Games on .iso run too fast [ePSXe 1.60]

I tried Final Fantasy Origins and Xenogears in ePSXe 1.60 from their .iso files. Both games run way too fast. Text scrolls by so fast I can't read it. ePSXe is hyper-responsive to the controller buttons. When FFO says press any button, I get only a split-second to do it before it repeats the opening movie (still at high speed).

I am trying to play the games from Run ISO, not through Daemon Tools (though DT is installed). The BIOS used is SCPH1001.BIN. The controller used is a real PS2 controller (Sony brand) with a USB adapter. I tried Peops video, Pete's Directx7, and Open GL plugins. I got the same result (games too fast) with them all. Vidcard is a Radeon 9000 (hope to get a new one for Christmas) with A64 3200+ CPU and 1G of RAM in Win2000SP4.

You must limit the framerate in the gpu-plugin, just do it from the gpu-plugin options.
