black screen with isos?

does anyone know why I may be getting a black screen when trying to load an iso i ripped from my mortal kombat trilogy cd?

The cd worked just fine after using sapu's cd plugin, however, the iso is not loading properly (i just get a black screen...)

any help? Thanks!

possiblities:

- try different CD plugins...
- the ISO may have bad sectors or is corrupted and you need to rip it again...

what program did you use to rip it with? did you try using Mooby's CDR plugin (which loads ISOs through Run CD)?

And in my experience, ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K Core works the best for ISOs.
But thats only if that is the case. Could also be a bad rip. (I like CloneCD for that )

well for some reason when playing mktrilogy as an iso there will never be no music,to hear music you need to use the original cd.

yep, it creates an image of the entire CD.

but, if the game has CDDA audio you'll need to use mooby's plugin to load it.

I also had issues with this, you could refere to my post, but i will make it easier, make a cd image with alcohol120%, then use daemon tools to mount it... and best of all, it even lets aspi messed up machines work without issue .

If you make the iso with alcohol, use the own alcohol virtual drive to load it, no need for daemon tools too.

Hey thanks for the help!

So I ran alcohol120 and now I have two files mkt.mdf and mkt.mds

I'm not sure what to do with these. I tried loading one of them in the virtual drive and then try to "run cd-rom" in epsxe, but that didn't work.

I would highly appreciate any help!!

Thanks

cool, thanks for the help, it's working perfectly now!!

if anyone here has played mortal kombat trilogy, have you noticed the graphics are not quite as good as they would be on the actual psx? i am at 1024x768, super salx2, full dithering, and there is still a lot of pixelation unless the window is super small

let me know if anyone has any comments/suggestions...thanks!!

please, no bumping. if no one has a solution, well then you're out of luck.

since you mentioned dithering it seems you are using Peops, try a hardware plugin for better results.

Use a different resolution, an intenger multiple of 640*480 (like 1280*960).
