ePSXe is NOT dead.

From time to time, people come here and ask if ePSXe is dead, if progress has stopped, if it will become open source, etc. Well, simple and clear:
ePSXe is NOT DEAD--more like sleeping.

At the current status of the program, it's really hard to improve. Given the authors do this in their spare time, releases become more and more spaced in time, but this doesn't mean it stopped. There is NO release schedule, it's out when it's done. Keep in mind that calb, Galtor and _Demo_ have their own lifes, with jobs, family, etc, and do this for free, so they are in no obligation to do it. Just enjoy what they've done until now, probably the fastest, most compatible and accurate PlayStation emulator ever compiled for a PC, and let them think about releases .

As of now, authors haven't expressed interest on making it open source. It's their project and they are on their right to do so. If you dislike this policy, you are free to try other projects that have gone open source. If they decide to release the source in a future, you'll know at due time.

If you are experiencing problems with some games that aren't still compatible, or perfom bad, or with bugs, you'll just have to either wait, try another emulator, or play it on the real hardware. Again, this is a non-comercial program, that you didn't pay for, so there's no point in bugging authors to release a new version or give a release date. The best thing you can do is report it in the "ePSXe compatibility" forum, where you can also check if someone else has reported the same bug. Need any help? Just ask here, we are willing to help you, that's what we're here for .

In the meantime between releases, please do not ask, speculate, jest, mention, or make a thread about ePSXe releases. We do not want to hear "gosh, it's been a long time," even if your excuse is that you just want to talk about it, and technically aren't asking if it's dead. DO NOT mention ePSXe's current status; such speculation is useless, annoying, and a waste of time. We're sick of hearing about it!

Now have fun with your emu
