Question Force Feedback

This is driving me nuts!! I've been changing settings on everything for forever... I just installed DirectX 9.0b and tried it again and it still doesn't work! I have it configured for DXJoy1, Big Motor Constant, Small Motor Sine. I have a Gemini AxisPad FX that registers as "Game Elements Controller" on my computer. To test my vibration I usually open up Metal Gear Solid and do the vibration test in its options. Sometimes, the feedback will work, but it won't stop until I open the controller's properties in Windows XP and choose the vibration test tab. Everytime I try to get it to vibrate, Windows XP informs me that "ePSXe has encountered an error and needs to close". The controller works fine on PC Games. Thx in advance for ur help!

Don't get too frustrated. ePSXe's rumble support isn't too reliable at this point. Try some different settings on the motors is all the advice I can really say I've got to offer. I've got a PSX-to-USB converter from Radioshack that I've been try to get my Dual Shock PSOne controller rumbling on and I've yet to get that working right myself.

Don't double post nor bump please, is not allowed - and is annoying. Here is what you need to know about configuring the pads (including rumble support) on epsxe.

I've bought a usb-ps2 thingy also and i've gotten it to work! But only if u select directx1, and both small and large motor on constant. Works fine now

I have it working pretty well with my Logitech RumblePad 2, but the only title that doesn't work is Metal Gear Solid (PAL and NTSC)...and F.Y.I, Xorcist ePSXe GamePad Configurator v1.5 SDL (beta) doesn't solve that problem...it doesn't support Dual Shock features.

Rumble in MGS on epsxe is a pain in the ass. It doesn't work too well if at all. The best I've experienced for rumble + MGS was with PCInex and the Harakiri pad plugin. Worked a lot better than epsxe.

Yup, this is one annoying problem for MGS on ePSXe, but I guess another emu with Harakiri's pad plugin is the only solution for now......we haven't heard any news from the ePSXe crew....hmm, hope they're getting on okay.

Can you please tell me the settings to get the Logitech Rumblepad 2 to work? I just got this controller and can't get it to work.

BeauxQ, it is pretty easy.

1.)Install the drivers from the C.D you got with the pad - Mine is v4.40.143.0(4/23/2004).

2.)Run the ePSXe pad config menu, and make sure, in the top right corner, you have set it to Digital/Analogue mode.

3.)Set the 'Rumble Type' to DX Joy 1, as I assume that is the pad we're working on.

4.)Set 'Big Motor' to 'Constant', and 'Small Motor' to 'Sine'.

5.)When you're in-game, press Del (hopefully, you're using one of Pete's Plugins) and you will see somewhere at the top of the screen either 'D1' or 'A1' written...D means Digital and A analogue. If it set to 'D1', press F5 and change it to 'A1'...if it's already on 'A1', then leave it. If it set to 'D1', then vibrations won't work...so, make sure it's set to Analogue mode.

If you follow these instructions, then it should work. Let me know if this helps.

The instructions were written very well and easy to understand, but it's still not working. What's a good game to test it on? Maybe it's just the game I'm using that has problems.
I'm testing it with Final Fantasy 8. Though i'm not sure what events in the game are supposed to make it shake. What game should I test with? I have mostly RPGs but some others...

Then it's just not working still, because I have been casting GFs to test it.

BeauxQ, try using the PCSX emulator with Harakiri pad plugin. If it still doesn't work there, it's probably a driver issue, and you'll have to either get the newest ones, or wait till they release newer wich correctly support vibration.
