Question resolution question

im try to remember a resolution someone talk about on here for epsxe. i tried and it was perfect balence of speed and quality. i think it's 986 x 742, im not sure. do u guy know what it is ?

I think you mean 960 x 720. It's good in some psx games that use prerendered backgrounds (ff7, ff8, etc.) because it is a multiple of the original psx resolution (320 x 240). Therefore, the correct pixel ratio is achieved. However, not all video card drivers allow for this resolution. For example, Nvidia's regular drivers don't include it, but Omega's custom drivers do.

or 1280x960, or 640x480 is a good one too.

however, for most games, non-320x240-multiples will work fine as well, like 1024x768

960x720 should work OK if you run it in a window. I just tried it on my 9500 Pro and it ran perfect . I normally run my PS games at 640x480 windowed though, as it is big enough for me and is a multiple of 320x240.

That res works fine on my geForce 3. But then again, I can add rezzes at will thanks to nVidia's driver support.
