unusual problems

In game display Problem.
Three boxes started appearing at the top/middle of the screen.
I tried disabling AA and dropping a few setting but it wouldnt go away.
I managed to fix it by clicking the fast preset then clicking the nice preset and tried again and it went away. What's going on there?

1920x1080 became available when I unchecked the "Hide modes that monitor cannot display" box in windows/display properties/advanced/monitor.

I played Final fantasy 7 for a while but noticed that the refresh rate was only at 60Hz instead of 80Hz that its supposed to display at that resolution.

I exited the game checked a few things and found nothing wrong so tried again but now 1920x1080 isnt listed in epsxe!
