ePSXe not actually closing

Whenever I close ePSXe, it merely closes the GUI part of it but it is still running when I look under task manager. It seems to actually increase in resource hogging after I 'close' it. Anyone have suggestions for this? It's not too horrible to use Ctrl-Alt-Del everytime I want to close it, but fixing this problem would be nice.

Ok few ideas you could try.

1. Try closing it via the file menu.
2. Reenable the dos console window via the enable logging option, then close it instead of the gui.
3. Try using a frontend, these override the gui entirely, so that the esc key terminates the emu.

the easiest method: go to Run-->enable Logs. when you are done with a game, press Escape. it brings you back to the GUI and Dos window. close the GUI and you are done
