Sound Problems
Maybe I'll get more attention with this problem here...
I'm so frustrated right now. I think I'm just really bad at selecting the right configuration for drivers but using epsxecutor, I couldn't get the game to even run (black screen). So I said screw it, and tried delta under the default FF Origins setting. Screen came, but no sound. Tried Changing sound drivers, same deal. So I tried changing the CD Driver, and screen goes black again. Here are the configs via Delta: Plugin: P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.1.15 Author: Pete Bernert and the P.E.Op.S. team Resolution/Color: - 640x480 Fullscreen - [32 Bit] Stretch mode: 2 Dither mode: 0 Framerate: - FPS limit: on - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: Auto Misc: - Scanlines: disabled - Game fixes: on [00000001] Eternal SPU 1.41 Three ticks up, sans SPU IRQ on (tried it, no change). DirectSound 64 Wait for XGA Buffer is Free Audio Out: Thread Update before accessing register SPU IRQ - Wait SaPu's CD Plugin Tried Pete's, and black screen. Running via CD for now, as sound should come at least SOME of the time. Comp Specs: Win XP Home 1.5 P M - 768 MB RAM ATI 9000 64mb Please help. And if you can teach me the ways of using executioner to load without black screens that'd be cool too. Thanks. |

Your configs seems to be flawless. Do you get sounds for your other games?

Does anyone have any clue to this problem? I would think someone out there went through the same problem.... Especially someone with Star Ocean 2 or Legend of Mana. If you could post your config that'd be great. Do I have to do a - noauto command or something? Please help. |

No sound for any game? Hmm. The only thing I can think of off hand is that there's a directx problem of some sort. Try reinstalling directx and/or running the dxdiag program to test that dsound is working correctly.

Why don't you try making an ISO? Perhaps the problem lies within the data extraction from your cd itself. Maybe it won't do anything, but trying won't hurt

Fixed it.
I'm retarded. It's always the first thing that you should look at, ie: Is it plugged in. This time, I didn't go to options and click "Enable Sound" *sigh* :cuss2: I guess I missed it the first time because I was trying to go through Delta which didn't really give me the option to go to options. |

Hmmm that option should be present in delta. On the sound page there is an enable sound checkbox. That should do exactly the same thing as the epsxe options.
/me wonders if there's a bug there I missed.
