Help please

Ok, i installed epsxe on my laptop, its a dell inspiron it has:

512 ddr ram
2.66 ghz P4 processor
40 gig hd
32 mb ATI mobility radeon card.

im also running windows xp home edition

I cant seem to get the epsxe to read my ps discs... i put in FF7 and it just loads a black screen and does nothing but spin up and stop. Can someone help me please.

What plugins are you using, specifically which CDR?

the ones that came with the program, the Pete's open gl driver, epsxp spu core 1.5.2, epsxe cdr wnt/w2k core 1.5.2. Im not using a cdr, its the original game, do i have to burn it to a cdr??

There shouldn't be any problems there. How do you have them configured.

...and by CDR, I meant the CDR plugin.

i just pressed the "fast" button for the video, i figured it would run faster, auto detect fps limit, cd rom is configured to my drive letter. Sorry, i dont know much im a n00b to this

Do you get anything when you run you run the bios on its own? Honestly, that plugin configuration should work pretty well right out of the box. So, we'll have to try some things to track down the problem.

i just restarted my computer, and i got it to run 1 time, but then it started moving all fast and everything.... can u help

Hah..that's due to you selecting the "Fast" configuration. It actually turns off FPS limiting. You'll want to re-check that. There also shouldn't be any problem turning up a lot of the settings. You have a fairly decent machine.

oh, i get the bios when i play that, im trying to get it tweaked to where it does not go to fast... but it wont play final fantasy 7 anymore... what should i do?

well. try Pete's D3D plugin (im not sure if you should use Dx6 or DX7....)...well anyway try these settings:

Plugin: Pete's D3D Driver 1.1.75

- Scanlines: off [0]
- Unfiltered FB: on
- Dithering: off
- Screen smoothing: off
- Full vram: on
- Game fixes: on [00000001]

i customized it just for you

you might want to also try fullscreen, i dont know what preferences you like

Try looking at my site. It should be helpful.
As far as it oly showing the BIOS screen, that's a CD plugin issue. Try using Xeven's CDR.
