Question Pocketstation emulation with ePSXe

I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on ePSXe emulating a PSX with a Pocketstation "plugged" into the "memory card slot", maybe there's a plugin I could use e.g. or whatever.

I'm playing FF8 at the mo and was wondering about the pocketstation game and how I could play it, perhaps on a pocketstation emulation proggie.

any help appreciated

Currently the ePSXe team have no plans for Pocketstation support.

Re: Pocketstation emulation with ePSXe

There is a pocketstation emulator but the games really suck. I have a real pocketstation and the game sucks. I just use it as a memory card. Plus even if it did work in epsxe it would only show up as a memory card.

Re: Pocketstation emulation with ePSXe

I agree that there should be something like an option to make ePSXe think there is a pocketstation in the memory card slot or something.

I also agree that the pocketstation games suck but I really really want to get stuff from Chocobo World on FFVIII ^^;

Re: Pocketstation emulation with ePSXe

Well if it's ff8 your interested in you could try this (I'm not sure if it works mind you but hey, worth a try )

The pc version comes with the choco world mini game. Try playing that, then use psxmemtool to convert ff8pc saves into ff8psx ones and load them into epsxe. Hopefully that will get you the desired extras

Beta's idea is a very good one. That is probably the only way that ou will be able to play that game. A Pocket Station emu was tried a while ago and even had releases but it was not popular, did not work the best, and the author lost interest in it. Needless to say it was discontinued. The pocket station itself was released in the USA for only a very very short time and then pulled. The reason, basic lack of interest. The Pocket Station rather resembled a DC VMU in size and shape and had a tiny black and some other color screen that displayed the graphics in a primitive dot block form. Not very impressive at all. I had the privilage (? ) of seeing one in action at GameMasters when it was near me. I was not impressed.
sincerely,
