Question for anyone else that uses an ATI video card
...Does your work with Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.2? I'm asking 'cause my ATI gfx card crashes(WinXP gives me an error) whenever i switch/pause to ePSXe's menu. Other than that it works and looks pretty darn good, and i want to keep it this way, but i can't cause when i have to switch between, it'll no doubt freeze.
the following is the specs for the system i'm using NForce 2 (GA-7N400 Pro2) AMD XP 3200+ 512MB DDR RAM Pioneer DVR-A06 (im playing from Disc) ATI Radeon 9800 AGP(8X) 128MB RAM Windows XP (Home) If you have any suggestions, or any info that may help, please inform me. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Question for anyone else that uses an ATI video card
Your specs seem similar to mine, and I use that same plugin with no problems. I'm running Win2k and I have Catalyst 3.8 drivers.
NForce2 (MSI K7N2-ILSR) AMD XP 2200+ 512 DDR ATI Radeon 9800 128MB 8xAGP Win2k SP4 A few ideas: I've always had more success when I rip my discs to ISO format...hard drives are faster than optical drives, if you have the disk space. From looking at your specs I'm guessing you have a pretty capacious hard disk, so you might try that. Also, XP Home really doesn't get a lot of respect from me...I've run XP Pro on my laptop and Win2k on my desktop and both have given my very few problems. But every time I visit my parents (XP Home) they tell me about how their computer is always crashing. Doh!

Grr...I think ATI does this to me on purpose...they wait until I mention one driver release and then they release the new ones. Cat 3.9 is now out >_<

#@%!. I recently installed the catalyst 3.9 and directx 9.0b.
Now epsxe, crashes whenever i try to boot a game or the go into the bios. I've tried every plugin, but epsxe still crashes at the same point every time; whenever i try to boot up the psx bios or run a game. What gives? Man, this is really pissin me off...damned thing is more trouble than it's worth, kinda... (BTW, i am running a AMD Athlon XP 3200+ cpu(not overclocked), an ATI All-in-Wonder 9800 Pro gfx card (not overclocked either, and Windows XP home(full, retail bought version). I suspect that it's directx 9.0b that's causing this crash, cause my tv tuner isn't working anymore either. Argggg! |

Re: Question for anyone else that uses an ATI video card
I'm using ATI Radeon 8500 with Catalyst 3.5 (I'm doing a new update today, after a while :P) and the Pete's GL2 plugin is working fine for me.
Except on one point: Whenever I hit ESC to go to the menu, I can't go back to game without crashing. I get application error and everything close. Be it using the Continue, Load State or even Reset. It says: The instrucion at "0x78010703" referenced memmory at "0x000000000". The memory could not be "read". I'm posting this as new thread anyway, just reporting as you asked for.
