Bios

Hi,

I was wondering if the PSone Bios will work with ePSXe, and if there is any point in upgrading the bios?
(i have scph7502 <<< is this the lastest Bios for the playstation? (playstation not PSone))

Note that I have 3 playstations and one PSone. Is it possible to dump the memory of the PSone?

Thanks

Note that i have scph7502.

My question is really that if it is possible to dump the memory of the PSone? and if there is any point in doing so ePSXe wise?

What is the newest Playstation Bios? Is it scph7502? (not PSone)

Thanks

Re: Bios

It is possible to dump the bios of a PSOne with a memory card but it isn't practical. ePSXe will most likely work better with 1001 or 7502, probably because the emulator was designed around those bios versions. If you were to use a PSOne bios it probably would work either the same as the other ones or worse so it isn't worth the hassle of dumping it yourself.

Here is some pics of the PSOne bios running in PCSX.

Ah, but the PSOne bios has not been dumped commercially yet. it is not available on the internet. Those pictures were taken by someone who had done it simply to show that it could be done. But he will not share the PSOne bios w/anyone nor tell them how he did it. You see, the PSOne lacks a port on the back that the original PSX had. That is how it was possible to dump the original PSX bios. The PSOne has to be done in a special fashion.
As for the 7502 bios, no it is not the latest PSX bios out, there are newer ones. However, it has been recommended by the ePSXe authors, themselves as being the most compatible w/all the PSX games out there.
I use it exclusively and I have never ever had any problems with it. As for what bios it is, the 7502 is the bios from the European version of the PSX, the 1001 is the American (USA) version, and the 1000 is the Japanese version.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

saxamiga, I have the PSOne BIOS on m hard drive right now. I ll back it up with some screenshots Unlike the older PSX, the PSOne BIOS can only be dumped via the memory card controllers as its the only output port the PSOne has. I got this BIOS from the internet too.

Re: Re: Bios

The PSOne BIOS works perfectly with ePSXe, infact, I always prefer running the last versions of a BIOS than an old one, SCHP 1001 is more than 7 years old. the name of the PSOne BIOS is SCPH101.BIN
here are some screenshots
