Is it possible to fix Vsync problems with GPU pluggins?

Here’s the deal, no matter which GPU pluggin I use (gpuEZHsoft, gpuPeopsSoft, gpuPeteD3D), I get image tearing because there’s no Vsync, especially with 2D games. Funny thing is, if I enable the Vsync option in gpuPeopsSoft, then I get super slow downs.

My computer is not a bomb, but it’s more then enough to play emulators, so I don’t think that it’s a problem with my PC. I don’t understand why a basic emulator like Virtual Game Station can handle Vsync and not the plugging for good PSX emus like ePSXe.

Here’s what I got:

T-Bird 850
256 SDRAM PC-133
Radeon 7000 64MB AGP
SB Live Value

I’ve tried all my games with the actual CD, using an ISO image with Daemon and with a direct ISO both from ePSXe. I’ve pretty much tried every possible settings in all 3 GPUs, so I’m out of ideas. Oh ya, and Vsync settings with my Radeon card doesn’t do squat.

Thank you

try enabling Vsync in the ATI tools. once you enable it, set your refresh (For whatever res you are going to use) as high as your monitor will allow.

ooops didn't see the vsync in the ati card not doing crap part. Still I recommend setting the refresh as high as possible

Doesn't change anything. Really seems to be a GPU bug or something. ePSXe is not to blame either cause the same problem happens with other emulators using the same pluggins.

cvgs has a very low minimum requirement list in comparison to to epsxe

but Idano

try turning down all the extra features on petes plugins like framebuffer etc...

I get perfect Vsync, so I don't know what your problem is. The Peops mega slowdown when enabling Wait for Vsync seems to be a plugin bug since it happens on my PC too.

You might have to set your monitor refresh rate to 60Hz so that the 60FPS framerate will naturally sync with the refresh rate.

My monitor was at 60Hz to begin with. What are your PC specs and what are your settings (pluggins, bios, etc...) in ePSXe?

Re: Is it possible to fix Vsync problems with GPU pluggins?

Have you tried using vsync with pete's D3D/OpenGL plugins? Try using the Dx6 D3D or plain D3D plugin. Does OpenGL run well on that card?
