Feature request

Now that ePSXe supports quick switching between analog and digital modes via F5, it would be very nice if this could be mapped on the gamepad directly. (As it is on the PSX controller) I've mapped every single PSX button on mine and I still have an unused one that could be used for just that, completely eliminating the need to reach for the keyboard for this task.

I hope that Chrono Cross will get fixed on the next release too. On my system using 1.6.0 it won't run past the "Start new game" point. Runs fine on 1.5.2 but I'd like to be able to use a single version of the emu for all my games.

Keep up the great work guys, that's a great piece of software you're gifting us with.

Re: Feature request

quick question. If you're using the PSX controller, which button isn't being mapped? AFAIK all buttons on the PSX controller should be used if you assign all the pad functions in epsxe.
But on topic here... I think it would be nice to choose which button switches analog and digitital modes as well as which controller you want to switch.

I'm not using a PSX controller but a PC gamepad. (Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Power) There is 13 buttons (and rumble) on this baby wich allow me to map every single PSX button on it and still have a free button on the front center of the pad.

What I meant is that I'd like to be able to map this particular button so it would switch between analog and digital modes just like on the original controller. I could already do something similar by assigning the F5 key to that button from the programming utility I have with the pad, but native support would be even better.

Yes, apparently it is. I've seen reports of people being able to run the game to some extent, but everyone seems to agree that it is buggy and version 1.5.2 is the only way to go for Chrono right now. I'm not as lucky as them sine on my system it blackscreen right after I selected "New game" and Vibration (on/off). I'm sure it'll get fixed at some point, we'll just have to wait and see.

Re: Feature request

zomby, doesn't your controller comes with a software that can map the gamepad button to a keyboard button? If it can, try mapping the free button to f5.

Yes, it does work. However I'd like to see a future version having the possibility to map the button natively, without the use of any external utility. Of course it's not something critical but it would be a nice enhancement. It could be especially useful for someone who has more than one gamepad connected as each of them would have their own independant button for switching between analog and digital.

Anyway, I've thrown in the idea. I hope it get picked up in a future version but I certainly won't lose any sleep over this if it never get added.

in 1.6.0 the game gets passed the New Game. I can play it just fine. The only problem ive seen is with the frame limiting. the game will run too fast even if theres a FPS limit. Im not the only one who experience this problem. it will probably fixed in the 1.6.1 bugfix release

Re: Feature request

Very weird, maybe some of you have the "odd/even bit hack" and/or PC FPS calculation enabled
