Re: sound
Well, let's see. First of all, try eternal spu or peops spu, grab them here. In config->sound, enable sound, xa music and cdda music, and leave spu irq hack disabled. Config either one in spuasync, eternal in smooth mode. With eternal, configure buffer to a size of 40 or so.The other settings are aimed for quality, we can take a look to that when it works. Have you the latest drivers for your sound err system? If not, go download them. Does ePSXe give you any error message?

Thanks for your help.
While sound did work, it was "too fast" and at a very high pitch. Video sequences in the game were also too fast. Know whats causing this? Core works, but it stutters, especially in video sequences Last edited by Vandelay; July 1st, 2003 at 20:04. |

Re: sound
in the video plugin, enable fps limit. then set it to 50 fps for pal games and 60 fps for ntsc games. it should run at normal speed then.

Re: sound
Make sure that 'Use PC FPS calculation' is off in the game fixes of the GPU plugin too.

Re: sound
Or set the SPUAsync mode to Wait instead of smooth (Disable anything related to Frame Limitation in your GPU plugin).
Umm... what exactly was the purpose of that "PC FPS calculation" fix? |

Re: sound
it's a different way of calculating the fps. with some games/comps it works better. on my comp i have to have it enabled for every game or else it runs @ 3-4 fps.

Re: sound
Well, wait seems at first like a good solution, but it gave me nice slowdowns with final fantasy 9 battles. Surely a great present, but i didn't like it
. So try first with gpu frame limiter. And remember to leave frameskipping disabled. BTW, as you have a Radeon, be sure to use pete's opengl 1.72 gpu plugin, and use the special fix 'mixed software framebuffer access'. I've heard that latest cats have greatly improved fb access, but just to be sure... Sound can crack if game isn't running at full speed, so check that (with pete's, press 'del' on your keyboard, it'll show your fps, that should be around 50 for pal games, or 60 for ntsc). To make it sound nicer, activate Neill's reverb and leave everything else in misc disabled. Check if any of the special game fixes is needed for the game you are trying. It it makes clicks, maybe is a matter of insuficient buffer, make it really big, and if it helps, then lower it as much as you can without hearing cracks.
