epsxe windows mode problems
well, epsxe runs fine when i play it in fullscreen mode, but when i have it in windows mode the game doesnt even load up then it gives me the "would you like to send an error report?" that is so common for XP after about 3 seconds of waiting...and its weird cuz if i open another game, such as sims or diablo2 in windows mode, then open epsxe, it seems to work fine....but this gets very annoying because those games take a while to load up and i was just wondering if there was a solution to this problem
THANKS! |

Re: epsxe windows mode problems
1. Swith 2 D3D(DX6) Plugin it will be faster... & better for your card since it (your gfx card) doesn`t use DX7
2. try 2 higher resolution 640x480 (or higher) it`ll improve (image) quality a lot |

Re: epsxe windows mode problems
Tada!!!
Intel are only good at making CPU ![]() Change your gfx card or do what winter_mute said... but IMO, if you have little money, even a Geforce2 could be fine

Re: epsxe windows mode problems
but that "card" doesn't use dx7. the dx6 plugin is made specifically for cards like that. also update your plugins. the newest version is 1.72. it wouldn't hurt to get a new graphics card, as the intel gfx chipset SUCKS
my friend's comp has a intel gfx chipset and just about every game he has doesn't run good because the processor does all the work. a new card will help out all of your games. anyways, here's the link.http://www.ngemu.com/download.php?action=plugin&id=1

Re: epsxe windows mode problems
the peops soft plugin makes the processor do ALL of the work, so you will need a faster processor than if you used the other plugins. i tried both the soft plugin and the dx6/dx7 plugins on my friends comp which is a 933 mhz p3 with i think the same gfx chipset. the dx6 plugin ran better and a little faster than the normal dx7 plugin. the dx6 one ran either at or close to full speed, but the soft plugin ran at about 30-40 fps (i think).

Re: epsxe windows mode problems
Really? That's interesting. I figured the software thing was a bid to get back to old CVGS style compatibility. I've got a rather crappy video card, see (GeForce 4 MX) and I was having so many problems with FFOrigins, but with Software everything looks fantastic. And the movies play smoothly too. Anyone know what's up with the MDEC playback? Or is it just me?

Re: epsxe windows mode problems
well the compatibility is higher with the soft plugin, but it doesn't run fast with slower computers and it doesn't have as many gfx options and settings. as for the gfx card. try using the opengl plugin. i use it on my gf4 mx 420 card and it works good (just not @ full speed, blame my processor). but if it works ok with the soft plugin. then keep using it then
. i can't post my current plugin settings, because i can't use my comp for a couple of weeks, but i will try looking around for another post i made with similar settings.edit: i found one of my older posts with my settings from a little over 3 weeks ago (june 3rd).
