Question about PSF Logging

Since I did not see a Questions or Ideas type forum for specfic questions this forum seemed as close as I could get. As the authors of ePSXe are aware (and prolly working on) the magical question that's on some of our minds...PSF logging. I've just been worn out ripping those things by hand it's just too time consuming. So if and or when are you planning to impliment this feature..?

And I don't want any of you board regulars to come in and flame me for no reason. This topic is directed @ the coders of ePSXe. kthx

Neill Corlett wrote on his page that he had asked _Demo_ about this feature. It seems that _Demo_ is implementing it into the next ePSXe

Post Scriptum: I don't think that anybody would flame you for that question

Check this thread for a clearer explanation and some links.

To make it short: PSF is a music format directly ripped from the game executables (similar to the SNES SPC format) which makes the best compromise between filesize and quality: lowest possible filesize + best possible quality

The only disadvantages:
- You have to be a skilled programmer to rip the music (until ePSXe 1.5.3).
- Certain tracks won't work without special pre-treatment, because they depend on special commands by the game itself (e.g. the final boss theme in FFIX).

Frankly I just got tired of doing it by hand...haha call me lazy. Thank you for answering my question.

Any chance you want to share the SPFs you have so far? I can host files up to 10MB if need be.

The ePSXe authors are aware of PSF. From Neill Corlett's PSF Central:

Quote:
First of all, you need to know R3000 assembly. If that's not a problem, keep reading. If it is, you'll probably want to wait until _Demo_ adds PSF logging/saving to ePSXe, which he is planning on doing.

I don't know whether this is taboo to ask or not(if it is, forgive me), but does anyone know when the ePSXe plans to released 1.5.3? This version will have PSF logging, correct? If so, how long until we get this version? A few months? A few days? I just need a rough ballpark figure.

Thanks in advance.

I have quite a few games I want to rip.

How long is a piece of string?
Seriously: when it's done.
It's being worked on. Many improvements have been made, but no official release date has been, or will be set. We'll hear about the release date of the next version when it arrives in our laps.

Sorry to bump, but this is really important to me.

Now that 1.7.0 has come along, does anyone know if they plan to add PSF Logging as a feature in any newer releases/betas?
