some questions, 1 weird problem, 1 general issue and 1 plugin issue

ok ok well first the weird problem
no matter what plugin's I use ePSXe all ways frezes for like 5-10 second every like 5-10 mins no mater what game it just does it

second why the hell is my HD like going like mad as if its reading a really big file off my pc (well not one file more like ALOT of little files) as I run ePSXe (and not useing ISO just a normal PSX cd)

and 3rd issue I cant seem to get any good configs for my graphs plugins I have ALL the latest (exect the gide my card doent do it) and with the normal crappy 640x480 in soft not d3d or opengl it jups hear and there but if I lower it or hit the "fast" button most times it makes it jump even more

ok now I guess to tell me which plugin would be best for me and its config you will need my syspecs

well I have a
XP1800+
Windows XP
onboad sound card (Avance AC97 Audio)
liteon 48x12x48
256DDR ram
and my video card is a Dimmon Viper 770 Ultra (its a TNT2 Ultra with 32 meg at 4x AGP pritty much the best TNT2 card you can get)

(going to get a new card in 2 months but I still would like to get this issues sorted out)

and dont think about the graphs issue I have played around with it for months but right now its just buging me to hell (well the stoping every 5-10 mins issue is REALLY pissing me off)

>> second why the hell is my HD like going like mad as if its reading a really big file off my pc

Hhmm... enable DMA mode if you have not...

>> as I run ePSXe (and not useing ISO just a normal PSX cd)

That explained it pretty much, cd-rom takes time to spin up, try to play your games off an ISO, you will see the improvement.

>> now I guess to tell me which plugin would be best for me and its config you will need my syspecs

IMO: Pete's Opengl GPU plugin, Eternal SPU plugin.

Maybe the after-effect of a too high overclocking

ok well for one the freze problem isnt a cd problem it has no affect if its an ISO or the CD thats why I didnt say I was useing a cd and not an ISO so for somereaion it does it anyway

also where is the DMA thing I belive its on but I am unsure

also my CPU isnt overclocked I dont see why when my 1800+ works fine with all my games and I would only consider it if my CPU was the weeklink which at the moment is my video card so I cant improve that so why touch the CPU clock rate???

ok also with what Evil Squall said about it beeing my cd rom tell me why the spin up would affect it when its playing a movie for example the starting movie in chrono trigger
how can it stop in that and be classed as spin up? when the movie files are indival files (when showing a movie it doesnt load one movie file after another its one but I dont mean ALL the movies are JUST one file)

i think its a result of OC your CPU...

if you did try to lower it by 5 fsb or higher...

and by the way TURN on the "Auto FPS limitation"

Yes, D3D is better for a TNT2. I used to have one. It's bizarre how things are going though. Try disabling any background tasks you might have and see what happens. Something's hogging all your system resources.

well I dont know why but when I play half life I get better FPS in openGL then d3d but I will try that but do you guys know why it just stops for no reasion on all my games and never in the same spot? (well sometimes its close to some spots)

and I am useing winXP SP1

the graphs settings dont really bother me right at the moment seeing I am buying a new video card half way through feb (maybe a ti4400 or a radon 9500pro)

Yeah! I noticed it, HL, Unreal,...(pc games) are faster in OGL than D3D even with a TNT2
But what they said is true, D3D is 12% faster when playing PSX game.... Dunno why..

But OGL runs faster than D3D in most PC games with my old TNT2!!!

HL was 40% faster in OGL, Unreal from 30 to 50%, so I still wonder why

you know why?

try doing this... on CS

use d3d then enter to the console "d3d_flip 1"

you'll get about 20-30 more fps...

if you dont do this on CS movements will lag!

try to read "readme"

in PSX emu its alot faster
