Hi, everyone! I'm trying to play Soul Reaver on ePSXe, and some sound sequences stutter. Not the movies, but within the game. I tried playing it off the iso, played around with the sound plugins (making the buffer bigger, etc) and still get the same problem. The only time when it doesn't stutter is when I change the video properties to the lowest possible resolution.
Is there a way to fix this? I hate 300 X 200 resolution. It won't even let me go as low as 640 X 480. ![]() Thanks in advance!

Try setting refresh rates to 60Hz.

How would I do that?
I'm using Pete's DX6 3D3 Driver 1.68 for Video and Eternal SPU Plugin 1.30 for sound.

Monitor settings.
If it's at 60Hz already, try a higher one like 75 or 85.

What I don't get is how can video resolution affect the sound 0.o?

Ok.
I got an ATI graphics card that the device manager calls "ATI Rage 128 Pro AGP 4X TMDS" I don't have a sound card because the sound thing is on the motherboard, which, if I remember right is K7S6A. Plugin Settings: Video: Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.68:

Try these settings
Plugin: Pete's D3D Driver 1.1.68 Author: Pete Bernert GFX card: NVIDIA GeForce3 TI/MMX/3DNOW! Resolution/Color: - 640x480 Fullscreen - [16 Bit] Textures: - R8G8A8A8 - Filtering: 6 - Hi-Res textures: off - Palettized tex windows: off - Garbage collection: on - VRam size: 0 (Autodetect) Framerate: - FPS limit: on - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: 60 Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 3 - Framebuffer texture: 2 - Framebuffer access: 1 - Alpha multipass: on - Mask bit: off - Advanced blending: hardware Misc: - Scanlines: off [0] - Unfiltered FB: on - Dithering: on - Screen smoothing: off - Game fixes: off [00000000] I think having screen smoothing on slowed everything down and u do have a sound card it is onboard meaning built into the motherboard |

as u see on the Pete's GPU on the screen smoothing option, it says that is very slow, so its better to not turn it on ^^
and in 32bit mode the dithering option doesnt change anything, but all this was explained on yeloazndevil config ![]() ![]()
