Brightness/Gamma correction?

Is there any possible way to increase the brightness or gamma correction within ePSXe? All of the games I've used on it are darker than they normally are. I CAN see, but when my character enters a darker area, I can't see much of ANYTHING. Brightness and contrast on my monitor are all the way up. I usually turn up the gamma correction on my other PC games, but from the looks of it, ePSXe doesn't have this option, and, as a result, I can't get any further in certain games. Is there a way to lighten things up a bit with ePSXe? Or a plugin that has the ability to change gamma correction levels? Anything you could tell me would be of great help. Thanks in advance.

Aaron

P.S. Here's the config stats.

Either:
a) use Pete's D3D plugin (which enables you to adjust the gamma when you choose the graphics device (top-right button I think)
b) Most video card drivers allow you to adjust the gamma without actually changing it for the monitor. (I.e. Nvidia's drivers do)
c) Adjust your monitor.
d) Play in a dark room (not recommended)

If anyone else has any suggestions?

Oops, didn't notice you had already turned up the brightness/contrast on your monitor. Forget c)
Btw, a GOOD monitor shouldn't require you to put those two up to max.
There's lots of guides on monitor tuning on the web and a bit of toying with the settings is usually rewarding.
If your monitor supports it, try adjusting the color temperature.

I used to suffer from the same problem as yours, RandomManA. mortu's about Direct3D is right. But I've found another solution: PowerStrip.

Get it at http://www.entechtaiwan.com/ps.htm

It's shareware and if I'm not mistaken, you can register it for $30 to get rid of the Start-Up Tips window that annoyingly remains open for 80+ seconds.

It has special hotkeys such as gamma control which can be used inside any game, ePSXe or PC ones.

D/l it and try it, it's only about 700K and it's highly recommended by me
