320x240, are using the 'correct PSX aspect ration' option?

In Pete's plugin, set it the 640x480x32, then next to the selection for resoloution is a tick box which says something like 'Use Correct PSX aspect ration'. Tick it. Make sure that 'Use FPS limit' is also ticked, adn set your texture filtering to 6.

Because it looks like ****. As long as the aspect ratio is the same, and it is a multiple of the original resoloution, there should be no problem.
Modern graphics cards aren't really designed to run in rezs lower than 640x480 IMO.

Same thing. Use that. If you want graphics that are exactly like a PSX (all chunky and that), use Peops GPU plugin.

Because of the output device. PSX uses a TV, while epsxe, being a computer software, uses the computer monitor. TVs have rounder/softer pixels and scanlines so graphics look good on them (playing PC games on a TV is sweet) but monitors use much sharper pixels and have no scanlines. As a result all the ugly little artifacts that TVs omit show up on a monitor. The only way to get it to look like a PSX is to hook your video out to a TV. Other than that just try to find a setting that looks alright for you. You can try enabling screen smoothing or FSAA (if your card supports it) to smoothen the image.
