Hi all,

I am happy with ePSXe but i still have one strange thing which i don't know why that is when i change "desktop resolution" from 640x480 to 800x600 and to 1024x768..." then any game i am playing still look the same !

My spec.:

19" iiyama monitor
ASUS Geforce 2MX-400 (Detonator 28.32)
Pete's GPU 1.62
Eternal SPU 1.30
Pleay from ISO image

Does anyone out there has any idea ?

Thanks very much.

Heh ?
Not sure about what you mean.
Are you sure the resolutions don't get changed ?
It should look better if you set the resolution higher.

depends on the game... big 2D psx pixels will stay big 2D psx pixels (without filtering, etc), doesn't matter how high the resolution is.

For EPSXE or any other PSX emulator, a higher resolution usually don't improve graphics in any way. That's because most PSX games run at a even 320X240 resolution, with some running at 640X480. If I'm not mistaken about this, most emulators just stretch the naive PSX resolution to a higher value, but usually the difference in quality is not very noticeable. I did notice however that a higher resolution can sometimes slightly increase the quality/sharpness of 3d graphics, but like I said, the differences is not very noticeable usually.

If you want sharpen/crisper graphics, then you might want to try screensmoothing with a combination of FSAA.
