Unhappy problem with Gizamaluke's Grotto in disk 1 of ff9

I am at Gizamaluke's Grotto in disk 1 of ff9, after using the bell and entered the cave, the screen blackened and I could only hear the music. I have tried pausing the game, but that doesn't work. I am using memory card and have never used the save states. Please help!

My specs.
PIII 600 Mz
128 SDRAM
Intel(R) 810 Chipset Graphics Driver PV ( 3MB)
DirectX 8.1

ePSXe 1.5.0
Pete's PSX D3D (DX7) Renderer
Pete's MIDAS Audio Driver 1.7
ASPI Driver 1.2
Bios scph7502.bin
I have USA version of FF9

1.You have to use the internal cdr in epsxe like ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2. or ePSXe CDR ASPI core 1.5.2.

2.Config the plugins and there will be enable subchannel caching to disk

3.Try using scph7502

ALL your settings (resolution, options, ...). But first, use pete's CDrom plugin: try autodetection, no speed limit, no subchannel, only boxex selected is try again on error: 5 times. Copy your patches files for FFIX in patches directory of epsx and select "autoload ppf files" in epsx options.

The Cdrom config only allows me to choose the cdrom and there is no other options.

Download epsx 1.5.2, in this version, if you goes to Cdrom option you can select epsx cdr aspi or (if you had it) pete's cdr aspi, select pete's, in the new window, check the aspi for your OS (aspi for W98, ioctl for XP,...) select your CDrom drive, insert a PSX CD and click on "autodetection", the mode may be automatically selected. select "don't use subchannel" and try again on read error with a value of 5 times. click OK and restart.
For sound, uses eternal sound plugin with default settings.( You can increase a little buffer for better sound)

You have tried an other patch? Check if your version needs it and if your CD isn't scratched. If not, try a soft GPU plugin, like peops.

Try to disable "enable cdda sound" in the spu plugins configuration
and use epsxe 1.5.2 core spu plugins

That doesn't work but thanks very much for all your help. Would it be possible if someone can have my memory card and pass that point for me? it seems to be the best solution.
