Video slowdown

I'm trying to watch the intro video to BOF4, and it works fine, no slowdown initially, but after a few seconds drops to about half speed. I'm using Pete's D3D by the way. When I hit the show framerate button, the speed goes back to full, but then it starts to slow down again. If I keep hitting the button, it stays at full speed, but I'd rather not have to do that. Any hints as to what may be causing this problem, or, more importantly, how to fix it?
