R-Type Delta in ePSXe...

i d/loaded ePSXe to play the (difficult) R-Type Delta on it (so that i can use save states, etc.). my problem is, i can't seem to find a good gpu plugin to use. my hardware config:

PIII 450 MHz (i need a faster CPU

)
192 MB RAM
Giga-Byte GA-6BXE mobo
TNT2 Model64, 32 MB SDRAM (64-bit data, 128-bit memory bus):
-> Detonator XP 23.11 drivers
XWave 3000A sound card (32-bit)
Windows XP Professional

my plugins:

ePSXe 1.5.2
E}I{'s Soft plugin 0.97 (w/K6 & Katmai optimizations)
Iori's sound plugin 1.40
SCPH7502 bios

under E}I{'s plugin, Delta runs faster than under Pete's OpenGL/D3D plugins (strange i know, but...). anyhow, it's still *very* slow, especially in cutscenes, but that's to be expected.

however, gameplay is also quite juddery, even during 'quiet' periods. so, what i'd like to know is, can anyone recommend either a better gpu plugin, and/or which settings i should be using?

or is it just my CPU that's the bottleneck?

Use Pete's CDR CPU plugin and disable "Retry on Read Errors" and check "Don't wait for CD-ROM to Become Ready". Also make sure your cacheing is Async Read

Hey, like I always saying, if you have problems why you cann't post me a savestate? Almost anything I runned on P3 450 with my plugin worked at full speed. Also, you should know that K6 version is not optimized better, it is slightly slower, but compatible with K6 CPUs.
I recommend you to try some different SPUs and play from ISO. Also you can just overclock your CPU to 550 or even higher(but not hold me responsible is something happens). You know, my plugin uses memory bus much more than raw CPU power even on your system.
