I dont think so...and to be honest I hope the PC win32 version remains the main concern
it's a great emu, but there's still a lot that can be improved!

yeah!...well I am asking because I don't like many PS games except FF9, MGS and SmackDown....!...why because the textures in all playstation games move like hell...it is not an emu fault just a damn characteristic of playstation....!

Well ePSXe sort of runs almost all PS games..if not all then...I guess around 70 Percent compatibility and the 30 Percent are those inculding Tiny Tony and Barbie...come on who wants to play those....!

I got this creaousity because othe emu authors are turining their attention to PS2 emulation that why I asked....!

yup...psx hardware isnt that good at all. The lack of perspective correction for example is a big annoyance; I think even the saturn has it.

well, hardcore gamers wouldnt I guess...but kids, maybe...allthough I dunno if there are many kids using epsxe. Anyways, a lot of games still have small bugs. There's definately room for improvement there; if you compare epsxe with for example zsnes in terms of accuracy and compatibility; well, I think that it still has quite a while to go to reach that. Again, that doesnt mean it isnt a good emu

it could happen of course. The neogeopocket was well underway to be emulated very well when suddenly there was GBA and the interest vanished, sadly. Now there's still no real good emu for it.

I doubt it
They didn't convert FF IX so they won't do this with FF X
But FF XI will be soon....

In some post I forgot there was some emu author or plugin author who mentioned how difficult is it to make an emu....! specially solving the compatibility issues...if one game works other won't then they fix the problem now both work...the third now gives problems...and this goes on....!

Well it is some hell of a Job, and I bet emulating PS2 would be even hardware....!

Emulation is difficult specially with a complicated console like PS2.

That just a pirate version of FF9 (FF9 + CVGS in one pack), not the official PC version of FF9(never release).

Why do people think that the authors of epsxe have to go on to emulating a new system? If they're enjoying what they're doing right now, no need to whine about them not doing something else. There are plenty of other programmers out there. PS2 and Gamecube and X-Box will be emulated eventually. Have patience. It doesn't always have to be the same set of programmers. And if you're impatient, well, then go buy a PS2 or don't. Either way, just hush.

I think that Square already said FFX won't be on PC.....
But FFXI will, and hopefully beat Everquest or AO

Thumbs up

Ali:
I don't thing that the programmer's will quit improve their PSX emulators just because there are newer systems that are waiting to get emulated(Gamecube,X-Box and PS2)
There are still emulators for C64 which are getting improved.
And this system compared to next generation - consoles is as
old as a system could be... I think good PSX emulators will be there
for a long time.So we don't have to mind what will be in 5 years.
I have some games I will never throw away or even sell them.
Graphic isn't everything.Suikoden or RE1 are having crappy graphic
but I still love playing them.
And i think many PSX emu programmers are thinking so,too.
Why else would they pro an emu ? Just to say:"OK,done.... NEXT!" ?

As far as i know, the ePSXe team is still working hard to improve and update ePSXe. Whenever there is a complaint about a bug, Calb or Galtor gets right on it and starts fixing it. I doubt that they would every abandon ePSXe for a PS2 emulator. The only that I think they would consider a PS2 enulator is when they feel that they have gone as far as they can w/ePSXe and from what I have seen, they show no signs of slowing down. ePSXe is in good hands w/Calb, Galtor, and Demo at the helm.
sincerely,
sx/amiga
