Ridge Racer Type 4 = Slow

I have a 1.0ghz tbird, 1gig of ram, Geforce2 MX, and using the latest version of ePSXe with Pete's OGL plugin.

So, why does my R4 run sooo slow?

Thanks!
Paul

I found setting the texture filtering option down to 2: extended-remove black borders does wonders for speed increase. At that setting, I saw a perfect balance in speed and graphic performance.
Also, you might want to check if your frame limit is enable. And if you're using external SPU 1.3, then I highly suggest you change from SPUasync to something else. I found that option to have a noticeably speed drop(from 60 fps in tekken 3 down to 30's fps).

my specs are somewhat lower than his, and I use SpuAsync and sprite smoothing successfully.

edit: except for when i try to run SFA3...but that's understandable...

works great since epsxe 1.5.1 ...are you running an older version? or perhaps you have to clean up your registry; I've heard more people complain about low framerates even with the new epsxe versions....there might be some setting in the registry that conflicts, but, since I reinstalled, I wouldnt know what.
