weird problem with MGS

epsxe hangs up randomly in loading some cutscenes. windows still responding but failed to detect the cd drive. To redetect the drive I have to power off the system for a few seconds then restart.
This has happened twice already and I'm afraid it would damage the cd drive. Never encountered this problem before because I've already played some games like Grandia and CMR 2.0.
Any idea?

Check the connections from the CD-ROM to the IDE connector. If it is snug tight, get an updated CD-ROM driver

it's okay now, after I changed it back to epsxe 1.51.

maybe some cd configs went wrong...wow...try disabling subchannel caching...I bet that would do it...!

I finally found the real problem. It's not the 1.52 version, actually it's the 'framebuffer read on move' setting that i checked. Now it's working without a hitch. Hehe... my mistake.

'framebuffer read on move' is a special fix in petes gpu plugins
