Another Arc the Lad question...

I got everything working fine and running great (thanks to everyone who helped), but now I'm about to go from Arc 1 to Arc 2, and one of things you can do is use arc 1 save data in arc 2 (allows you to get a few special things in Arc 2 if you got them in Arc 1, not to mention character data), but when I try and use my old save data through Arc 2 it doesn't work. I go into the convert menu and select my old save and it reads the card and says it's loading but it eventually just stops and reads the card again while prompting me for what save I want to use all over again.
