Pictures of imperfections in FF4. Is there a fix?

ZSNES:

ePSXe:

Is there a quick fix in the video options that would get rid of the black it likes to draw behind things?

Yes... the naming of SNES Final Fantasies is a bit strange:

NES FFs:

FF1 (J) = FF1 (US)
FF2 (J) = Unreleased in the US
FF3 (J) = Unreleased in the US

SNES FFs:

FF4 (J) = FF2 (US)
FF5 (J) = Unreleased in the US
FF6 (J) = FF3 (US)

PSX FFs:

FF7 (J) = FF7 (US)
FF8 (J) = FF8 (US)
FF9 (J) = FF9 (US)

PS2 FFs:

FF10 (J) = FF10 (US)

There are also remakes of FF4, FF5 and FF6 for the PSX.

I think it was just a bug in the way the game was ported. I've seen another thread on this a while back. I think Shadow Lady posted it.

why WOULDNT this belong here?
he is just saying that the game doesnt show the pictures in ePSXe as well as the original did in Zsnes, personally, i think that all the new releases (ff4-6) on psx are POS compared to the originals, but thats just me...
maybe square is trying to make back the $$ that it lost on the movie

its not a bad port or anything like that. the graphics come out fine on a real playstation. it has to be with the GPUs... i've tried all the ones posted on this site, they all give the same errors.

Damn right the psx ones are POS. I would reccomend getting the SNES ones and playing on Zsnes. They're all translated and quite well I might add.

I agree, there is no point to use an emulator to play a game that emulates another game... to many bugs could happen. And If you can play the original on ZSNES, there really not a point.
