ePSXe - Windows XP

Either ePSXe isn't compatible at all with WinXP or WinXP makes some games don't work, but the few games I tried all didn't work. I just recently changed my OS to WinXP, and all of a sudden I can't play!
Has anybody else been able to play any game with ePSXe 1.5.1 on WinXP? Will the 1.5.2 be XP-compatible? ePSXe programmers, please consider this! Thanks!
And can anyone tell me about a program like GameHack, which is WinXp-compatible?
Thanks a lot!

epsxe is XP compatible since version 1.5.0 (officially supported). BTW, I can use even epsxe 1.2.0 with my winXP.
What games are you trying to play?

I've never had any problems with WinXP and ePSXe. The only issue is that you'll get a minor speed decrease if your computer isn't up to scratch.

IMHO 90% of the time problems after upgrading is the cd plugin. Make sure that you install an aspi layer, or switch to the win 2k internal plugin.

okay, I used to have Win 98. Now I have WinXP, with 256 RAM, and have installed the ASPI layer. I've tried playing Megaman Legends 2, and it's verrryyy slow, like 1 frame/second. Anyway I'll try more games, I'll report back, experts.

More important thing: anybody knows of a program that work like GameHack (or a version of GameHack itself) that's WinXP compatible? I desperately need one! Thanks!

Tapi PEC sama CEP kan cuma bisa buat PSX emulator kan? kalo misalnya untuk stracraft atau red alert gitu kan nggak bisa? ada yang bisa nggak ya?

English: But PEC and CEP are only for PSX emu's rite? it won't work for StarCraft or RedAlert right? anybody knows of others that work on all programs like GH?

SandslashXBro,

IIRC, even ePSXe 1.0.0 works with WinXP.

Have you updated your Video/Sound card drivers?

Try ArtMoney (forgot the website... try Google). It's a very good memory editor with a powerful search engine. BTW I agree with Badaro, u might need to update your drivers/plugins. Personally, I have no problem with WinXP (except I have to use NTPAD and a WinXP-compatible CD plugin).

If anyone anywhere at any time is thinking of upgrading to WinXP, you MUST format your harddrive first. I recommend switching to NTFS at that time. After that, start completely from scratch as far as drivers, etc. Thats the only way you'll get any kind of performance increase whatsoever, not to mention compatibility issues resolved. If you merely upgraded to XP, thats what your problem is.

For pc games memory search utility, you can try either <a href="http://www.artmoney.ru" target="_blank">Artmoney</a> or <a href="http://www.fly.to/mtc" target="_blank">Tsearch</a>.
Tsearch is better tho because it has analyze and debug function for nooping the adress.

What about your graphics card drivers?

Also I didn't format my hard-drive when I upgraded to XP.

Maybe you didnt update your graphic card driver after installing WinXP. The default driver included with WinXp is very slow when playing games.

I've simply had many experiences upgrading many computers to Windows XP, and even when I've tried upgrading windows XP Home to Windows XP Professional I've noticed instabilities and slowdown. That was on a 1.7ghz Dell machine. I'm just saying its the best option, and the only way to know your getting the most performance.

I never format the hard drive... I just manually delete the Windows and program files directories, and any other system information in the root directory

Be sure to check the Windows XP Update site for Updates to XP. Select "Scan For Updates". Then Select "Windows Compatibility Update". You may even find updated drivers for your hardware.
