some help with sound.

I can't get sound to work at all. I cannot test or configure any of the sound plugins! If I try, it crashes.

Does some kind of error come up when it crashes or does it just close all by itself?

It doesn't give any error message. If I try to test or configure any sound plugin, it just stops respondong, and I have to close it throught the task manager.
