I have a problem regarding FF9. I just bought it and it works perfectly on my PSX, but I can't get it to work on my PC. I tried too many plug ins and setting to describe, but if anyone can tell me how to get it to work, I'd greatly appreciate it!

If you have PAL version, try to enable in CD plugin option .. internal or from Pete .. Subchannel support + Enable subchannel read from CD ROM (reading from cd rom .. thats works only on some cd roms .. try it) otherwise use PPF patch .. http://www.ngemu.com/psx/ppf.php

Didn't know patching was required to play the original games on Pc. One question remains, how do you use them with ePSXe?

I'm from Holland, so that would mean I'm supposed to use the UK PAL patch. Someone noticed that already, but thanks anyways. I downloaded the patch from this page, but how can I use it with ePSXe? I already used this switch to start the program (epsxe.exe -ppf -loadppf "patch name") with the patch, but no response. I just get a black screen with no sound. I already tried Pete's CD-ROM plug-in.

Actually location has nothing to do with it. If its a pal disk and the language is english then its the uk version. The black screen usually means that the patch was not applied. I'd try pete's as suggested earilier or failing that make an iso and patch that.

I'll try the image thingie, but you might want to look at this; it's my ePSXeXecutor file. Just import it using ePSXeXecutor and you can view my settings. Also I noticed something else that war rather interesting: if you check the game compatibility in the executor, you will find the following game ID: SLUS-012.51. But when I checked my CD, it showed SLES-029.65 as ID. Since the UK patch uses this as filename, I'm going to try and patch an ISO with this patch. Also, when using the settings supplied in the file, I can run the game now, but it hangs after showing the yellow "S" logo and going to a next screen. The screen differs when I use another BIOS. (I use the SCPH1001.BIN by default.) Once again, thanks for everyone's help, but I'm still not there yet!
