'Jerky' sound during movie playback

During game intros (pretty much all of them) and in-game movies (like the entry movie clips in WWF Smackdown) sound is horrible -- it seems like someone is rapidly inserting and removing (at a rate of something like ten times a second) my speaker cable.

This same thing happened when I tried VGS.

Note that system requirements shouldn't be a concern -- I've got a 1.7G pentium IV and 256 meg ram. I've tried a number of the audio plug-ins and have even tinkered with the video settings to ensure my computer isn't being taxed too hard.

Any ideas?

Confirmed -- this continues to happen when only one of 'em is enabled (and when both are disabled).

I don't know if this is related, but when I use Pete's audio plug-in, my Resident Evil 2 silver doesn't get past the gore warning (it freezes there).

Silver? As in a pirate copy? :eyes: Illegal copies are not tolerated here and are more than likely the cause of your problem. Obtain and original and then we'll talk. This thread is now closed.
