Problems with Joypadconfiguration (ePSXe 1.5)

Every time i try to configure the Joypad under Controls/Pads, he only accepts the down and right commands of my Joypad.
The left and up commands and all the buttons did he not accept. I use a MS Sidewinder Precision Pro Joypad. I need help. Is there a plugin to correct this? To play with the keyboard isn't very funny.
Did anyone has similar problems?

I had a similar problem: As long as I held down a button the correct button/direction was shown, but when I released it, another direction was filled in. I solved it by holding down the button and clicking in another field or on OK when i was finally done.
